Cardiff Town & Winter Wonderland.

Cardiff town is so amazing at this time of year. The air is so crisp that you can watch every breath you take form steam clouds in the air above you, the shops are so stacked with winter jumpers that a whole store looks as if it's made entirely of wool and everyone around you is bustling about with their millions of shopping bags just bursting to venture in to the next warm café to enjoy their steaming mug of hot chocolate or coffee.

After a quick trip to Starbucks and a browse through the town, we headed straight to Cardiff's Winter Wonderland. For those of you who don't have a Winter Wonderland near you, it's basically a chain of mini fair-grounds that visits all different cities of the UK at Christmas time. It's so incredibly winterry and festive, especially at night when it's completely aglow with fairy lights.

It includes lots of fantastic Christmas stalls and mini-games, a gigantic Ferris wheel, an ice-skating rink and lots of other fun rides and rollercoasters for you to enjoy. Every year there is usually something new to entertain and excite the anticipating inhabitants of Cardiff Town. This year, we had a magnificent new arrival.

This is Sky Ride.
It's your average funfair/fair-ground swing ride with a small twist... It's 60 metres high!
If you're someone who doesn't like heights, then this ride is certainly not for you... It's not very fast at all, but the height of it means it's much more thrilling than the average funfair swing ride. It's such a fantastic feeling being out in the open so high in the sky, I didn't want the ride to ever end!

After an amazing morning at Winter Wonderland, we stopped for a bite to eat at the Jamie Oliver restaurant in the centre of Cardiff Town. It's an Italian/American style restaurant that serves the most delicious and mouth-watering food you could ever imagine! I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and my friend ordered the linguine - two meals that were truly to die for if you're a pasta lover like myself and her.

And finally, a quick stop to The Kripsy Kreme for a doughnut and a hot chocolate to warm us up before we got on to the train. We had a lovely chat and felt so super cosy! We then found fantastic seats near the front of the train with our very own little table. We browsed through all of the photos we'd taken throughout the day whilst we listened to Christmas music through our headphones - the perfect end to a perfect winters' day out.
